Song of the Moment: "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga
Mood: amused
"There are no good girls gone wrong - just bad girls found out."
- Mae West
I'm by no means THAT girl. I'm not sure I'll ever be THAT girl. You know the girl I'm talking about... the one that makes guys head turn and other girls talk trash about her behind her back. In fact, I've struggled with self-esteem issues my entire life. I'm also too responsible to be THAT girl. I've always been somewhat of a goody-two-shoes. Sure, I got married young and rebelled a bit in high school. But I always think about the consequences before I make any decision. Which is probably why I didn't drink for the first time until I was 19-- and why I've never smoked a cigarette. I'm far too practical... and perhaps a little old for my age.
I recently read an amazing book called "How to be Hepburn in a Hilton World". It's all about staying classy and fabulous in the world we live in. In my mind, less is definitely more, and I think it's better to leave something to the imagination. ;)

That all being said: I'm ready for something different. I'm looking to try new things and make my life more fun and exciting. I want to get out more, meet more people. I know I keep saying it, but haven't done much to act on it. Well, I have been doing a couple of things, but those are kind of a secret. And to put things into work, I've got to overcome my self-esteem issues. But it's hard to overcome 24 years of something that is so ingrained in me. Honestly, I have been doing better. In the past few months, I've become more confident in myself and I feel like I'm almost a different person that I was 5 months ago. I dress better, I take better care of myself, I eat better(sometimes), I actually care what I look like when I go out. I am slowly forgetting who I used to be and slowly becoming just ME. (I'm also becoming a little more reckless... but that's a slow process)
I've also decided that once a month I'm going to do something different just for myself. This month: cooking lessons. They're next Saturday at the Viking School: French Culinary Basics. I'm stoked. Next month: who knows?
So what do you think? Any ideas or thoughts? Ta Ta For Now...
